About the Funds
The U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 22 Benefit Funds are the employee benefit programs providing pension, health and annuity benefits to over 1,900 active and retired members of Local 22, their dependents and beneficiaries. The purpose of this site is to provide plan participants with information regarding these benefits.
You should direct any questions you have to the Plan Administrator. The Trustees of the Funds reserve the right to change or amend, any and all of the provisions of these plans, or reduce or eliminate any benefit provided hereunder without the consent of any participant. The Trustees have established these Plans with the intent that they will be maintained for an indefinite period of time, but with the knowledge that funding the Plan is conditioned on Employer contributions under a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Union. Therefore, the Trustees reserve the right to terminate the Plan, in whole or in part, at any time. The Trustees shall also have the sole right to interpret any ambiguity in the Rules and Benefit provisions described herein.
Remember to notify the Benefit Funds office of any changes including your address, phone, marital status, births and deaths, changes in beneficiary or dependents or termination of employment through the Union.
All benefits are outlined in detail in the Summary Plan Descriptions that you received. You should keep a copy of these Summaries available for reference along with The Privacy Practices Notice and COBRA rules. You may obtain additional copies of these documents by calling the fund office, they will also be available online in the near future. We also anticipate that in the next few months, the ability for a participant in the funds to access their own actual pension, health and annuity records through this website.
In the meantime, we have outlined the general benefits available under each of these funds. You are covered under these benefits once you meet the Rules of Eligibility required of that Plan. Employers are required to contribute pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement of U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 22 and the Trust Fund of each for hours you work under a contract requiring contributions to that fund. While the amount of this contribution is negotiated through your contract, none of the monies for contributions are paid by you.
