Union Hall: Currently the Main Door is LOCKED until further Notice. There is staff in every office. Please call the appropriate office to handle business.

Due to the Executive Order Signed by the Governor regarding Mandatory reduction of workforce. Construction is considered an essential service therefore mandatory reduction of workforce does not apply.

What we know about Paid Family Leave at this time: It is administered through your employer’s NYS Workers Compensation. You can contact Worker’s Compensation Board @ 1-877-632-4996

Jobsite shut down: If your jobsite gets shutdown due to COVID-19 and no other work is provided. You can take a lay off and you will be eligible for unemployment. The Governor has signed an Executive Order waiving the 7 day waiting week so you can apply right away.

If you are concerned about being exposed to the virus at your place of work. You can ask your employer for a layoff. Again, the waiting week has been waived by Executive Order and you can apply right away.

Unemployment/ Layoffs: We are still requiring the Contractor and Member to please call the hall to be added to the out of work list. You Do Not Need to come sign the book. One of the Agents will sign it for you. Please Call the Union Hall if you get laid off. You can call the Main Number at 716-656-0220 follow the auto attendant if no one answers. Extension for Agents are: Press 4 for Jeff Zubler, press 5 for Rich Evans and press 6 for Dave Cronkhite.

U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #22 and Our Signatory Contractors are currently working on a Memorandum of Agreement to address hiring concerns due to this pandemic. Once this is finalized our members will be notified.

Apprentices: The Training Coordinators and JATC are continuously evaluating the situation and the impact to the training program. The Training Coordinator is maintaining communication with the NYSDOL to determine what options will be made available by New York State with regard to Apprenticeships. Many questions exist with regard to program completion and advancements based on OJT and related instruction. Other program obligations including; make-ups, union meetings, and fees are also being reviewed for options to avoid any undue hardships. This is an unprecedented event that is changing daily, making it difficult to determine any time-lines. The Training Department will issue information to apprentices as details are finalized.

April Union Meeting: Appropriation of Money – Currently at this time the meeting is scheduled. We will continue to follow the protocol and recommendations of the CDC, Federal, State and Local Government. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep members notified.

Applications and Orientation for New Applicants: Will be suspended until further Notice.
