The United Association is monitoring the Covid-19 Pandemic extremely closely. Due to this pandemic they are recommending to the Local Unions to alter their Collective Bargaining Agreements by implementing, signed Memorandums of Agreements for the best interests of all parties effected by this pandemic.
U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #22 has AGREED to the following Memorandum of Agreement which states:
U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #22 (herein Local 22) and Employer/Contractor who is signatory to the current collective bargaining. Local 22 and the Western New York Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association, herein (the “Parties”) agree as follows.
Due to the unprecedented pandemic caused by the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and due to unforeseen employment disruptions already occurring because of the pandemic, the Parties agree to amend the current collective bargaining agreement, so that all Employer/Contractor may select any member from the out of work list to work. ALL other provisions of the collective bargaining agreement remain in effect, including the layoffs procedures, and it remains the responsibility of the Employer/Contractor and members to notify the Union Hall of Lay Off. This MOA will expire by its terms 30 days from execution by the parties, although the parties may agree to mutually extend the MOA depending on the circumstances.
This M.O.A was signed on March 20th, 2020.
Any member on the out of work list before, and any member added to the out of work list due to this pandemic. Will be sent out to work as a NEUTRAL PICK for the next 30 days. If this MOA needs to be extended due to the pandemic, it will be discuss before the expiration date. IF ANY CONTRACTOR DOES NOT SIGN THE M.O.A, THE CURRENT HIRING PROCEDURES APPLY!
